Hi,

I am planning to get my first large selma (or maybe a hamilton) due to the sales.
However, I am not sure which colours to choose..
Should I get a classic colour like luggage and navy (Which someone mentioned that it is hard to have sales on these colours as it is neutral and classic, but I find that too many people have these colours)
or should I get seasonal colour like fuchsia and aquamarine? (unique, but harder to match outfits)

:wacko::wacko::wacko::wacko::wacko::wacko:

or maybe ban myself from getting it cause I am so broke. :wlae:

Hello.

If you have other bags in classic colour like black, luggage colour, then you can choose the seasonal colour for your new bag. Choose only if you really like the colours (fuchsia, aquamarine). This is only my view :)

LOL! There are lots of broke gals on this forum still buying handbags...LOL!

If it's your first Selma or Hamilton, I would suggest a classic color. (Unless you have other bags in your collection that are neutrals.) My first Selma was in luggage. Black, navy, and luggage are MK's standard neutrals available every year, but rarely go on sale. But they were just deeply discounted at some of the department stores recently, so keep your eyes open.

I recently saw Navy Selmas on sale at Macy's. If it were me, I would choose Dark Dune as my neutral color (not that I own one yet)!! :D

Yes, dark dune or luggage are both great colors, even Peanut is pretty
That being said, fuchsia was the color of my first selma....But I don't see it as a seasonal color I see it as a pop of color that goes with a lot of what I have all year. So if you are the kind of person who would use a bag as a pop of color than go for a bright one, but if you don't usually dress to allow for that than I would go with a neutral that will go with everything.

Macys.com has the large Selma in navy, peanut and luggage on sale today for $213.99! I would start with a neutral so you can really get a good amount of use out of it. But I use the pale blue Sutton as my summer neutral so some colors work well as pseudo neutrals too.

I have alot of black bags.. so I am thinking of getting other colours..
Navy is close to black but I like it as it is classy. I don't have any bags that is of luggage colour and I really like Fuchsia :wtf: Omg!

I live in Singapore, there are around 3 MK stores over here and the price is marked up very high. Though I haven't really been into the stores, I doubt they will have reallllly good sales (most probably still more expensive than getting from US sites during sale) :nogood:
Saw the sale on Macy's! One of the best sales I have seen so far (comparing to other websites) so feel like getting one asap.
What do you think about the colour(luggage)? It is neutral but I saw some pictures and videos, and it doesn't suit some skintones.
I am Asian, fair with cool undertones.

Yea, saw it on Macy's
YESHHH! I fell in love with Dark Dune long time ago. It's the colour that made me go "It's the one!"

Fuchsia is realllly nice. I saw it on youtube and find it beautiful and quite versatile.
I tend to wear black. But sometimes there is a pop of colour here and there. I guess that's why both options are fine with me. And that's why I am in such a terrible dilemma :( :spiderweb:

Yes! The sale I am referring to is Macy's.
Pale blue sutton is sooooo pretty! and yes, I think that some colours work so well as pseudo neutrals.

If you can find dark dune I would do that! It matches everything! With a neutral you can use it all year round. MK navy is also gorgeous. The neutrals do not go on sale often!

Since you already have a lot of black bags, I'd skip that color. Navy is a great black alternative...very classy and can be dressed up or down. Luggage is a medium brown that works with most skin tones. If you have cool undertones in your skin, then it should work well. IMO, dark dune is a more sophisticated color (brownish-grey taupe) that looks good on almost any handbag, but better on more structured bags with gold hardware. Fuschia also has cool undertones and is a great "pop of color" for year-round, but you'd have to love it for that. You'll have to take a look at all of your options and go with the one that "speaks" to you.

The advice you given is exactly what I thought/feel! Just that I am indecisive.. Haha! You are really really really good at this!:tup::tup::tup::tup:
.
I think for now I will leave the brighter colours for smaller bags.
I am thinking of Neutral colours (like what most suggest) Navy or Peanut for Large Selma.

so it is either Navy or Peanut for now...

Since you have a lot of black bags, u can go to fuchsia which is what u really like. :D It is really suitable for girls. You can choose luggage color if you wish to have Hamilton :smile1:

so it is either Navy or Peanut for now...
I am an Asian too...If u wish to choose either navy or peanut for your selma, I think it is better to choose navy, it will give fair complexion of skin. Peanut color may turn your skin looking darker, as it is lighter. But I agree with Ubo that luggage color suits most of the skin tones.

I agree with keiraliew. Between navy and peanut I would choose navy for you. Peanut has yellow undertones, so doesn't look as good on someone with cool undertones in their skin.
