Is this bag a small one like the others? You said she just wanted something to hold a few things.

I know what you're saying about Kate Spade--they aren't as hot as they used to be, but a good design is still a good design. If you think the "now" factor of the brand is important to your mom, take that into consideration.

That burberry bag is cute but I wouldnt buy form burberry anymore because of there crulty to animal.

NM has a smaller version of the burberry bag that is: 6"H x 13 1/2"W x 1 1/2"D

I guess the 1st burberry is a bit larger but I think it's ok because of it's shape....

I would go with the Kate Spade too. If you are considering other bags, I would suggest the classic Chanel flap.

I know, that's such a great bag, which I would love to get for my mom, except that it's a bit out of my price range. I can't seem to find an authentic one below 1K...
