Hello! 2020 has been a major year for me (buying my first house, first wedding anniversary, major promotion, graduation from my first degree and almost done my second degree) and I have yet to commemorate any of these milestones (better late than never!).
Background:
- I want this to be my everyday piece (worn 24/7) as it'll be my first serious bracelet.
- Almost all my jewelry are WG/platinum except for a few odd pieces. I previously felt that YG/RG blends into my skin too much, but I've had a change of heart after buying a few YG pieces. My skin tone is neutral according to Sephora (and my veins lol), so I don't mind branching out and buying other metal types plus I don't mind mixing metals.
- I can't try on any of these pieces due to covid restrictions, so I'll have to order online.
Cartier Love Bracelet (small) - YG or RG?: I have a small love ring in platinum, but I feel like my first love bracelet should be YG/RG (I feel like they're more classic and I can stack a WG later). My husband likes this bracelet the best out of the four because it is "THE LOVE BRACELET" (it is a gift from him after all) and it looks more substantial/solid than the others. Considerations: I feel like it would get super scratched up.
Tiffany T Diamond Wire Bracelet - WG: Most of my jewelry are from Tiffany so it matches everything I own and I've loved this bracelet since it first came out. Downside: my husband doesn't like it and I've seen a lot of pictures of it bent/deformed.
Vintage Alhambra bracelet, 5 motifs - YG or RG?: I don't have any VCA pieces and I just love how feminine it is. My husband's concern is that the bracelet may be too delicate for 24/7 wear and the motifs may get caught on things. My ideal bracelet size is 18cm since my wrist is 16.5cm, however the bracelet only comes in 17.5cm (so not sure if the bracelet would be too tight/uncomfortable). Do you know how much it would cost to extend the size 0.5-1cm? I don't want to pay an additional couple hundred dollars just to get it adjusted.
Tennis Bracelet (from local jewelers) - WG: The more reasonable and not so materialistic people in my life (aka my mom and her Asian posy) opt for a tennis bracelet from my local jeweler because "I'll get more for my money", but (1) majority of my everyday pieces have diamonds on them so I think it'd be a good idea to get a solid metal piece for contrast and (2) I like the idea of having a major designer piece for these milestones because it feels more...memorable. I just don't want to have any regrets because tennis bracelet popped up in like every second post of "What 7 pieces of jewelry all women should own" and I totally agree that it's a staple piece.
Please help me decide! I'm such an indecisive person because I love everything! I've been thinking about this for MONTHS and still can't make up my mind.
