I will be receiving a yellow gold set (solitaire engagement, diamond eternity wedding band, and plain gold band) for our 5 year anniversary. I've been on both the Cartier and Tiffany websites, and cannot decide on a set. I like features of a couple of rings more than the others, but would preferably like to get all 3 rings from the same brand. I know it comes down to personal preference, but I love both sets equally and need to choose one. I was hoping to hear some pros and cons of some of these rings to help me decide.

Tiffany set
- Tiffany 1ct 18k Yellow gold classic engagement solitaire (I like how the setting is one ring with a separate "head" on top. Looks like a classic ring)
- Tiffany eternity diamond wedding band, channel setting, 3mm wide, 0.84 tcw (clean, uniform look, straight lines)
- Elsa Peretti solid 18k yellow gold band (ergonomic, modern yet timeless)

Cartier
- 1895 1ct solitaire, 18K yellow gold ring (all one color, more uniform look. I don't like the supported setting)
- Classic eternity diamond wedding band, 18k yellow gold, 1.52mm wide, 0.22cts (streamlined, thin band of tiny diamonds, minimalistic look, yet elegance and soft lines on the band unlike the "boxy" metro ring from tiffany)

Since I haven't seen these rings in person, I would love to hear from anyone who owns any of them. I didn't know I would be this torn.

Have you tried similar styles? That could help make the choice. I tried on both the Tiffany and Cartier rings when I was shopping for my rings. I chose the Tiffany style setting and an eternity band in the end. Personally, I like the eternity band width to match or be thinner than the width of the engagement ring, unless the the diamond is over 2.5ct-ish on my size 6 hand.

Have you considered the Tiffany Soleste wedding band? Will you wear all three rings together?
I've considered the soleste. It looks like it's similar to the Cartier diamond band. I am currently living abroad, so I'm trying to locate a city nearby that would have both Cartier and Tiffany so I could try them all on. Has you heard of anyone who owned a Soleste and had diamonds fall out?

I'll wear the e-ring and diamond band on my left hand and the plain gold band on the right hand or in place of the diamond set if the occasion calls for it (washing dishes/kids/clothes etc)

I also have a size 6 finger and really like the idea of having an ultra thin diamond band to go with the engagement ring. I currently have a 3mm half eternity Vera Wang 3-row micropavé band in white gold. I wear that with a 2.5mm wide platinum solitaire engagement ring with a 1 carat diamond and micropavé on the prongs and "bowl".

I love the look of a classic solitaire and diamond band. The problem with mine is that i've had micro diamonds fall out of the prongs several times before and just want a plain solitaire e-ring and bigger-than-pavé size diamonds on the band. I also really use a plain white gold band a lot while cleaning, exercising etc, so I know I would get one in the new set as well.

I have the soleste band, earrings and pendant, no stones have fallen out. Very sparkly and comfortable.

I'm not sure the width, less than 2mm I'd guess. I have the 3mm channel band too. I have a solitaire engagement ring, I alternate the bands or wear all 3 together. Love them both!

I think Tiffany & Co has an iPhone app so you can "try on" the rings they have using a photo. Don't know if this helps but thought i should mention just in case. Good luck in your decision! I don't think you can go wrong with either choice, both are known for their quality and sophisticated designs.

xx

Yes, I have it 😍. I've taken pictures with so many models. I really love the Elsa peretti band as well as the metro. It's so fun "trying them on".

I vote for Tiffany. I have the solitaire along with a few Tiffany bands. I have been very pleased with the quality and Tiffany's after sales service as well.
thanks, this really is helping me in my decision. I think it would be nice to have a couple of different bands for stacking or different occasions.
