Hi Everyone!

I was wondering if anyone can give their opinion on the diamond pairs below. The most important "C" for me is cut and as far as size, I'd like for earrings to be 1 CTW, hence, at least a 0.5 for each.

I'm not sure if there's much of a noticeable difference for the below pairs of stones.. Will the J color show that hint of yellow even if the cut is really good? Does it matter for a pair of earrings?

Also, will it it make a difference if I go with platinum VS white gold martini setting?

Any help you could give would be great! Thanks so much!!

I would not want the J color pair, because the optics are not top. Don't like the green patches on the circumference edge in the ASET image. In addition, one of the diamonds has slight leakage in the center (less red). Besides optics, I find J color too tinted for me, even for earrings.

As for the I color pair, the optics are much better. However, there are sight negatives. The smaller, 0.513 Diamond has some, though less than the J diamonds, green patches near the circumference edge. The other issue is that the size of the two diamonds ( 0.566 ct and 0.513) does not match perfectly. Can you find a slightly larger Diamond to replace the 0.513 ct?

In terms of metal, unless you are allergic to gold or nickel, I see no big reason to pay extra for platinum. In general, I would stay away from platinum for large or dangling earrings due to weight of platinum. However, the weight difference is not a problem in case of studs, especially small ones.

RE the optics: I think these are just poorly photographed or badly seated in the rack. The IS images and the ASETS don't "match" in terms of weird returns. I think the ACAs look great, actually--aside from the size discrepancies--other than the one having quite a crystal dead center. That turns me off instantly. Did you pick these yourself or did you go from the "pairs"?

In an effort to keep you from being poached, I am going to PM you a few links to pairs.

Thank you so much for your responses! I obviously don't know much about diamonds!

Ame - I will definitely be sticking with White Flash as I purchased my diamonds from them and Im trading up (ta this point only one, because I lost one of them :( )

I don't have anything to add on the diamonds, but I wanted to say good choice on the martini setting! I am getting a pair of martini studs soon too and have been looking extensively at settings recently.

What kind of backing are you getting?
