Okay, so I have hair on the side of my face and whenever I wax to remove it, I breakout like crazy. One problem gets erased but another problem forms!

I need to be able to wax without breaking out, until I begin working on a more permanent solution.

I wanted to know if any of you girls knew any products I could use to help control the breakout. Natural products are preferred but all suggestions would be helpful.

Also, I use cold wax but I think hot wax would be better for facial waxing but the only hot wax I could find is the kind you don't need waxing strips for and I hate that kind of wax. Any suggestions?

Thanks. :D

OMG I have the same EXACT problem. I've tried EVERYTHING! People say to use baby oil to get rid of the wax residue because that causes clogs and break outs. And then I've tried using astringents right after waxing to sanitize the areas... still break out. I think it's more due to a sensitivity, but I've tried all types of wax as well! I hit up Sally's and bought three different boxes of their wax and to no avail.

Does anybody wax their sideburns successfully without this problem?? Would also love to hear how you do it!

OP I feel your pain sister. It's like, would I rather look like chewbacca OR a zitty pimply mess? Tough one. That's like picking between shacking up with Carrot Top or Richard Simmons.

use Bliss wax which is hot and no strips.. use it on my face and have very sensitive skin..

the wax comes with a cleanser which is used before and after waxing as well as a

pre & post waxing oil.. you can also try milk which is very soothing.. but have used

this wax, cleanser and oil for years.. it is a soothing & calming oil not oil,oil..and

very gentle...

personally, found "threading " to be uncomfortable.. around the eyebrows and

upper lip where there is not as much hair it might not be a bad alternative..

but for the sides of your face where there is more hair,it is more time consuming and

hard to see all those hairs.. you put the wax on and it comes off in a minute..

and if you use the pre and post cleanser & oil.. you should be in good shape.. give

it a shot.. plus it is more economical and convenient as you are doing it in your

own home and when the time is right for you...

I have a personal threader who comes around & charges a good rate.

I don't think it would be time consuming - it's not like the thread is catching one at a time - it is catching whatever it comes in contact with. Professional threaders (or just ones who know what they are doing) are so fast, it only takes a minute!

I think wax is probably just too harsh for your sensitive skin. I hate wax & so I epilate my underarms or down below & shave my legs.

I find that even sensitive wax is..well... crap. It's a messy process.

I have my eyebrows threaded and that is fine.

Only recently did I start needing my lip done and for that I have been using Bliss wax.

I break out even from having my eyebrows done. Plus I have super sensitive skin. The only thing that seems to work for me is to use peroxide after waxing and then for a few days afterwards. Use it just like an astringent.

I'm going to be the debbie downer of the post because I almost always break out around my eyebrows the day after they get threaded.

It's probably due to sensitive skin, like with the waxing.

I happen to have very sensitive skin and used to break out with

little red bumps that would last several days..very annoying..

have been using the Bliss for many years..and for me it has worked

out well.. have also tried soaking cotton squares in milk and spreading

them on the skin .. very soothing & calming.. different things work

for different people.. so to me you have to try till you find what works..

I used to get my eyebrows threaded at a place that would always apply sudocrem (or another kind of antiseptic cream) afterwards. They would also apply it on my upper lip area. I don't know if this would work for you but it might be worth a try. Sudocrem is basically a nappy rash cream that is also an antiseptic healing cream and a lot of people use this on their face as a spot treatment. Perhaps applying it after waxing might prevent the breaking out?

I'm really happy to hear that the Bliss wax works so well, I decided to try it out when they had a 20% off sale but havent used it yet! Thank you Ladies!! :D

I have hot waxing done on my face & washing my face as soon as I get home & using an astringent before bed the day of application seems to keep breakouts away - take a really close look at where you are breaking out & make sure there are no stray hairs around the area also- when i do notice a bump if I tweeze around it & apply astringent it seems to disappear! HTH! :smile1:
