Help! Box bag strap question

I have been using my medium box bag and want to store it and I have forgotten how to work the 2 metal pieces that are on the strap. Would anyone be able to explain how those metal pieces open? I can’t recall. I feel so dumb but I’m afraid to store my bag with the strap attached. Thanks so much in advance.

Lift up the top of the metal part and that will allow you to pop the strap out

Thanks so much for answering. That sounds familiar but I’m not sure which side lifts up and I’m afraid to force it. If I can’t manage I will post of photo of both sides.

I believe it’s the bottom that lifts but I learnt a trick to use the leather strap to lift it as it can be quite stiff to lift with your fingers.

Yes it's the Bottom that lifts up. I had been trying from the top without any luck. Now that I've unattached the strap, I'll probably forget how to reattach it when I want to wear it again!Thank you both for your help!
