Come shopping with me!

I have a appt with my SA on Tuesday to look at SSRTW, the 95.22, and the new book tote with the Paris map motif. I’ve also been eyeing the mini Caro in macrocannage (pictured). I’m searching for a bag to take on my travels. I currently use a Prada Re-edition nylon bag, as I’m afraid of bringing one of my more fragile bags. I love the Paris map motif, but book tote quality issues scare me. The Caro looks gorgeous in pics, but I’m afraid it may be a tad small. Would love to hear thoughts ☺️CAEDB6C6-2B31-4EE9-B7F9-80F8977CD45F.png

What concerns you about the book tote quality?
I have heard that the bottom can sag if there are too many items (or no bag insert) and the handles may stretch, but haven't heard too many issues with it (unless its about it getting dirty).

I have heard of the leather of the cannage caro being quite thin and delicate. Therefore it is easy to tear or split.

And I do recall reading this issue more than once on TPF.

They have the Paris Map motif in both the white base with black detail and the opposite black base with white detail. I loved the print but ultimately found it a little boring. Up close you can see all the cool details but from far away it’s not very impactful in comparison to the other fabrications it comes in.

I think once you start trying out the bags you’re interested in you’ll be able to hone in on what makes your heart sing. A good SA can provide options that may not be on your radar; but you may like more. Have fun on your shopping appointment!

I was primarily concerned with the discoloration from the glue used at the seams that I’ve seen some YouTubers share. I typically carry black bags and dress in mostly black (Morticia Adamms

My primary concern with the book tote is the discoloration at the seams from the glue used. I’ve seen some YouTubers report this. Since I tend to carry black bags and dress in mostly black (my Morticia Addams era ), it my be fine? I just noticed a new black lace book tote that’s caught my eye too, so hopefully I can see that tomorrow.

Thanks so much for linking to the Caro post. I had no idea- what a nightmare experience! I will definitely not be considering that bag, although I really enjoyed the look as an alternative to the Chanel classic flap.

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond!

Thanks so much! Yeah, I’m excited to try them on today to get a better idea of what works. I just noticed a new black lace book tote that looks gorgeous on the Dior site so hopefully they will have that in stock

Yes that lace one was super pretty, I was really tempted but wanted a little more space and it only comes in the medium. Can’t wait to see what you liked!

Thanks to everyone for the helpful advice! I decided to choose the medium book tote in the Paris map motif. I also accessorized with a matching mitzah. I ordered a bag insert and I’m in love! I also tried on several RTW pieces and ended up with a knit shirt sleeves shirt. Happy shopping!

Wow. And it looks amazing with the scarf. So stylish and chic! It’d look stunning with all black outfits!
