I used the Apple brand leather care conditioner to condition my backpack and it darkened it . It has only been one day since it was conditioned so I’m not sure if it will take days to light up or I ruined it. Please help!!

Same advice for everyone else who has gone overboard with cleaning: leave it alone and keep using your bag. I know it’s hard but it’s not the end of the world and it’ll even out over time. Next time, go in with a gentler hand - it appears you used a bit too much. I’ve used Apple Leather care for 10+ years and never had this issue. It may still improve if you wait a few more days to let it dry completely.

Anything you put on vachetta leather will darken it, including water... so not sure what your plan was ?
This hasn’t been my experience. My noe did get darker but I gave it a bath. Otherwise, wiping with water and Cadillac conditioner hasn’t darkened my leather at all. Don’t know about apple though.

What did it look like before the apple? I once tested meltonian conditioner on a small piece of vachetta and it came out sort of like this. That’s why I am a cadillac loyalist. Some other brands make really crap conditioners.

I'm really sorry. :( I had a similar experience with my first LV (Neverfull MM in DA) and ended up replacing all of the leather on an otherwise perfect bag. Hurts to do that, but the roughened leather really bothered me. Whatever you do, don't treat it with anything else! Just let it continue to age. I don't treat any bags with anything after that experience.
