Hello!

This is my first post! In fact I only found this forum the other day when researching a new handbag purchase!

I have a mixed collection of bags and I *just* LOVE all of them. I will start with my first designer purchase, the classic medium flap Chanel bag with silver chain. I got her new from the Chanel store in Paris back in 2007 and not only is she my best investment but also my favourite! She stays in her bag and in her box most of the time and she only comes out to play when it's not raining(!)

Since my Chanel, I have bought a Gucci boston bag, a Miu Miu, a Chloe, a second vintage Chloe that is pretty cool and I haven't seen anywhere else, several Stella McCartney Falabella's (I love the way they feel), a Fendi, a Lanvin ( one of my favs, I love Lanvin and saving for another!), a couple Marc Jacobs (the made in Italy ones) and a Judith Lieber clutch for parties.

For everyday I have quite a few Michael Kors, I like how practical and pretty they are yet I don't mind if they get ruined. I have a couple of Calvin Klein ones, Dooney and Bourkes and the other day I bought the Rebecca Minkoff Bree bag because it was pink and I realized I do not have a nice pink every day one for summer! Oh also I have some Brighton bags! I think they are nice quality for every day, the leather is lovely. We have a shop in town that sells Brighton goods and I am terrible for picking something up every time I walk past, the shop smells so nice I swear I'm addicted . They also sell Hobo, so I have some Hobo purses as well and I have a kate spade purse.

I think that is about it. I am building a new closet with special lit up handbag sections so I can display some of my nicer ones and i'd like to get some more fancy designer ones .

On that subject does anyone else find it a trouble keeping a balance between short term gratification and long term goals? I'd like to save up for another Lanvin bag or even another Chanel but every time I have a spare few hundred I end up blowing it on a $300 handbag instead of waiting and saving for a few months...

Anyway thanks for reading and if you would like to tell me about your bags I am all ears :biggrin:

Welcome! I look forward to seeing your closet when it’s finished. I would love to have something like that if only we had the space! If you want to chat to other TPFers, it’s probably easier to join one of the existing chat threads in individual forums rather than start a new one. The “Shopping My Closet” group is a pretty nice bunch and they do themed challenges and discussions, come say hello!
