I saw a Baby Cabas in the brand new concession here in UK so I guess there are still some of them floating around. It's light but I can't remember how secure it is, don't think it has a zip or anything?

yeah that was my concern...no snap or zipper.

Maybe something classic and quilted? like a GST or PST? They are structured bags but different than H.

I've seen the baby cabas at the Neimans in the Shops at Willow Bend in Plano. Try calling there and see if you can get it. The baby cabas is so cute and a great everyday bag. Good luck finding your bag and Gig'em. lol.

I have the baby cabas (stitching on the bottom). This bag is very light weight, and the leather is quite durable too. The only thing I am not crazy about is it has a single snap closure, no zippered top. However, this bag does come with a long quilted detachable pouch (nice heavy fabric) and this attaches to the inside of the bag and has a zippered top. So if I am shopping I put my wallet in that big zippered pouch. I am always afraid someone with fast hands will lift my wallet right out of my bag (this happened to me once in high school, years ago, so I am always very careful of this happening again, with a semi open top bag).

So even though it has the semi open top, I would recommend it. It's comfortable and light.

I do love BV too!

I love both Chanel and BV but I tend to prefer more structured Chanel bags like the classic flaps so they wouldn't be good for daily no fuss bags.

At the risk of getting chased out of this forum, I would recommend the large veneta in ebano (dark brown) or nero (black):

Unfortunately the large blk cabas seems to be sold out so I think e-bay is the only option!I 'd like to ask a question though cause I'm really a kind of puzzled here!isn't the Birkin supposed to be a shopping and travelling bag??Ok I'm not talking about croc ones although I've seen black croc birkins on the Hermes celebrity thread used as day bags ,but as I recall VB used hers while flying from Tokyo to London and most Birkins I see on ladies whether celebrities or not are just used mostly for shopping and are usually overstuffed!!I am in Europe and I've noticed that most ladies use Birkins for the day and kellys for nights out!I know that the Birkin is pretty heavy but Chanel shopping bags aren't lighter either and they too need careful handling like a Box H bag!So I guess I am of no help at all lol!
