I usually give something to Heifer at Christmas
Last year I gave to them and also African Wildlife Foundation. There are so many worthy causes. The Human Society TV commercials tug at my heartstrings.
Anyone have another animal oriented favorite charity?

Last year instead of gifts I asked my family to donate to various rescues. I don't give to the bigger national organizations, but I did give to some rescues that I follow on Facebook, etc. My Grandma about had a fit trying to get a thank you card out of one of them. I am thinking she would not donate to them again even if I asked. LOL

I try to pick one and give the most money to that and just alternate throughout the year. Just giving a few dollars here and there doesn't do much but just cover a charities postal expenses some times...

I give to the local municipal animal shelter where we got our cats.
