Heating stamping a gift? thoughts?

I want to buy the Damier Graphite Multiple Wallet for a friend for his birthday.
I thought about going the extra mile and having it heat stamped with his initials on it before giving it to him. What are your thoughts? I know it's kind of risky since it's non-refundable if I do so. But I think it's better than just giving him the wallet fresh from the store. I'll probably buy it at Neimans because the associates at LV South Coast Plaza are douche bags.

if you know his style and taste, and if you think it's practical (he needs a new wallet, likes graphite-or lv for that matter) that i think it's a terrific gift!

a little risky...I would wait. You can go to the store together to let him choose the color and size of the stamp...or exchange the wallet if need be.

you can also heatstamp after you give it to him;
give it to him first, if he likes, go heatstamp,
if he dosent like it, you can exchange it, than you arent stuck with it
