Model mogul Heidi Klum sashayed down the runway to promote healthy hearts Friday, Feb. 1, 2008. It was the fifth annual Heart Truth's Red Dress Collection fashion show, which features celebrities on the catwalk in red designer dresses promoting the anti-heart disease campaign.
Klum, who is no stranger to the runway, wore a flirty number, designed by Marc Jacobs.

First lady Laura Bush was on hand to lead the event. Bush has been working on the Heart Truth campaign since its beginning and expressed her desire to stay on, even after she and her husband leave the White House. The annual Red Dress fashion show raises awareness about heart disease in women.

Former model and "Las Vegas" star Molly Sims was another star who had a little experience strutting her stuff. Sims kicked off the show in a strapless gown encrusted with Swarovski crystals.

Singer Ashanti rocked a Tracy Reese strapless frock down the Heart Truth's runway and wasn't afraid to add a little pop to her turn for the charity event. The R&B singer is currently working on her next album (her fourth), "The Declaration."

Actress and former "Dancing With the Stars" contestant Lisa Rinna wore a flapper-inspired cocktail dress, designed by Michael Kors. Rinna showed off her dancing moves with a little kick step as she presented on the catwalk.

  2. This year's celebrities provided a high-energy show, dancing down the runway, not afraid to add a little personality to their walks. Actress Camryn Manheim shimmied her way down the runway in a satin gown by Ali Rahimi.

"Grey's Anatomy" actress Sara Ramirez dazzled in an Angel Sanchez design similar to the fishtail gown she wore to the Screen Actor's Guild Awards Sunday night.

TV personality Maria Menounos looked red-carpet worthy in a sparkling strapless frock, designed by Marchesa. The Heart Truth's Red Dress Collection fashion show helped kick off the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2008 at Bryant Park.

British singer Joss Stone pranced down the catwalk, vibing to the music as her dress's sheer outer layer rustled at her feet. Stone, who's also modeled for the Gap, glistened in a design by Max Azria Atelier.

The first lady opted for a cream-colored Oscar de la Renta ensemble rather than the color of the day. However, her daughter Barbara heated up the front row in rouge.

  3. "Curb Your Enthusiasm" actress Cheryl Hines got into the fashion show spirit, placing her hands on her hips and puckering up for the cameras. Hines' thin-strapped gown was designed by Catherine Malandrino.

Liza Minnelli performed at the star-studded event and wore an ensemble designed by a Halston Original. Minnelli rounded out the runway show and belted out "New York, New York" to a clap-happy crowd.

"Ugly Betty" star Ana Ortiz was anything but in a strapless Badgley Mischka gown. Ortiz stunned in the tiered number.

The first lady reminded the show's audience that "being healthy never goes out of style." She explained that the red dress has encouraged women to eat healthy, get regular exercise, not smoke and see doctors for regular blood pressure and cholesterol screenings.
