Well, this isn't so much of a horror story, as it is a hoping.

one of the diamonds in my cartier trinity ring fell out, and it was sent to paris for estimates and such, and it's been a little over a month now.

in anycase, it's insured for the current selling price, and a part of me really hopes it gets lost. hahaha.

i know it'd probably only be store credit, but theres this other ring that im DYING for, that i want more than the trinity, and would totally not mind swapping them out.

anywho, what i want to ask is, does this actually happen? losing jewelry? has it ever happened to you? what happened? did you get reimbursed? how so?

thanks for any info!

I've never NOT gotten anything back... I've never sent in any Cartier, but for Rolex, Chanel and Hermes items that I've sent in, it's taken anywhere from about 4-8 weeks to get it back.

Didn't they give you an estimated repair date? Do you have a confirmation number or something similar? Is there a number to contact? Did you send it out via one of the Cartier stores?

My mom send her pearl necklace in to get a new string. A couple of days later the shop called to say that it got stolen (along with a lot of other things). The person who was going to deliver it to the company from the shop, had left the car open, and all the boxes where stolen.

She got a new beautiful necklace, but its not the same.

^^^OMG your avatar photo is awesome! The look on your doggy's face is hysterical!

Sorry, back to topic. It is probably still being worked on. Jewelry repair takes quite a while when you have to send it back to the manufacturer. Keep us posted though!
