First things first; ~Buy what you can afford, and make sure you can afford what you buy.~
Okay, now that we have that straight....

Recently I have rediscovered Coach after many years of seeing Coach and taking a walk on by...
What I see now is a brand that has gotten serious about digging themselves out of that self imposed pit of ubiquitous and cheap into the world of lovely leather goods and beautiful, sometimes stunning design.
No, Coach is not what it used to be, but it isn't what is used to be 15 years ago, and that is fantastic.
Others bash the brand because it left its Cashin roots, or doesn't use the same sturdy baseball glove leather, or is looking too trendy; but I am thankful that Coach, throughout its years of messiness and outlet craziness, did not close its doors, but instead decided to hang in there and figure it out so to speak.
I don't like everything Coach has put out lately, but I like that its a business still in the game rendering good, sometimes great, leather bags at great prices. And they will still repair the bag.
Some people look down their noses at Coach, preferring instead to spend loads of cash on certain designer brands who charge four figures for what looks like a reusable shopping tote or an oversized bean bag chair, or a holder for exactly four crayons and a stick of gum. If that is your style and your game, great, go play it. But please stop hating on Coach...

because every company has a market and Coach is doing well in theirs. My bag collection is not as large and formidable as some, but I do own some designer pieces and I like them. What I don't like is feeling like I'm being duped, hoodwinked, just outright punked. For example, I own a bag from a certain designer whose name begins with C and ends with Lagerfeld. An absolute favorite large quilted tote with a big obnoxious logo. My beautiful bag is less than five years old, worn carefully, looks brand new all over except for the cracked handle/strap. Yes, the strap was fixed, but why did we have this problem in the first place? For a 3K bag? I've got RL bags that I use in bad weather and have stood up to years of abuse, and my trusty quilted tote withers at the first sign of adversity. But yes, I still like and use this beautiful wimp, and the repair went fine.

And don't get me started on that certain designer not plating the hardware anymore. What is that about? When KS can put a 12K or 14K plate on a bag which costs 1/10th of the price? 3-6K for a bag and NO GOLD?!?!
Another designer purchase (Ferra, I do adore thee still) in lovely calf leather yielded warping in the leather after brief wear. What happened to the quality, designer handbag people? WHERE IS IT? Yes, I needed to get some things off my chest. Ravings of a lady who knows a great bag can elevate a look and make it all better, but remembers that a bag is just that- a bag. A bag is something used to put stuff in and carry. That is all.

Thankful for Coach; staying around to make those things we need to put stuff in and carry. I think they are doing a great job.
Thank you for letting me rant and please let me know what you think! (but please be nice and if this post is out of line, please delete it.)

I hear about a lot of people looking down on Coach here in the forums, but in my real world most people aren't even buying Coach--they are buying much cheaper bags, and when they do buy Coach they buy from the outlet thinking that is all Coach has to offer. I don't know anyone buying the really expensive brands, which is kind of nice! lol

So, I carry my Coach with pride, and often get a lot of compliments because most people have never seen the boutique bags therefore they stand out. I completely understand what you are saying!

I started with Coach, then I went head over heels over the Big names (C, LV, Fendi, & H) and am now rediscovering Vintage Coach, the baseball glove styles and so far, one really cute/adorable mini Coach bag made in Italy in the mid 90's. I think if you like/love the bag and it fits your lifestyle don't worry who makes it.

That bag is BEAUTIFUL!! Who knows what lurks in the vintage universe?! Great find!!!
And exactly; the bag has to fit you and your life, no one else. Great reminder...
And oh, would you mind posting a pic of the inside of that bag, if you can? That ellipse turn lock is so lovely...

I agree that Coach makes some nice bags...now. As far as people hating Coach, though, that's no one's fault but Coach's. They made a lot of cheap, bad bags that cheapened the brand, and those bags can still be seen all over the place. Again, Coach is putting much better stuff now, but it's going to take a long, long, long time for them to undo what they did to their own reputation.

I don’t frequent many of the other forums so I miss a lot of the Coach hate. Out of sight out of mind [emoji23] I occasionally read the Hermès forum and they don’t even discuss Coach lol I just like to look!

I recently rediscovered Coach after not buying bags for a few years and I LOVE what the brand is doing. My Coach collection has many bags from 2010 and onward and honestly even though I wouldn’t consider that a particularly great era, the bags I have have held up and still look really nice. My Rogues are great quality, and a good price. I could afford more high end brands but I stick with Coach. The brand fits my vibe and I’m somewhat practical, Coach is a good value. Wear what you love!

I don’t see many designer bags where I live, maybe LV. People don’t really notice my bags and that is fine with me [emoji23] Although my latest purchase from the Snow White Dark Fairytale Collection seems to be a conversation starter, it has received a few compliments [emoji1]

I have been a lover of Coach since the 90's and have bags from the mid-nineties to current. There were some questionable eras, but I held on with hope that they'd eventually get back to their roots. With the newest creative director and the 1941 line, I feel like that is the direction they are headed and it makes me very happy.

I also believe those that bash Coach only know of the outlet/signature bags that used to saturate the market. When I wear my 1941 bags, I get asked often who the designer is. And when I tell them Coach, it's always a look of shock and disbelief. You can tell people don't get it even on their FB page. They scoff at a $500 bag and then claim that the outlet is where its at, yet complain about outlet quality....

This bag is so mini, it's hard to see the inside so here's the best I could do.

I have never looked at the FB page, I imagine it would drive me bonkers [emoji23]
