I have a sudden and strong hankering for a bag in the shape of a hatbox. An example would be Mansur Gavriel Circle Bag. I love the silhouette but not a huge fan of the leather as it shows scratch too well for me. What other designers or brands have bags of a similar shape?

BU Wood makes some amazing structured bags in that shape - I've purchased a few pieces from them for my wife over the last couple of years. She's very happy with the construction and quality of the materials they use. I can't comment on the scratches but I haven't noticed any and my wife hasn't had any complaints despite using them quite often.

Wow! I just looked them up & they look AMAZING! Looks exactly like the type of purse I'm looking for. My only concern- I read that it's made of wood though, does it make the bag heavy at all? Especially since it doesn't go on your (her) shoulder? I have to say I'm not familiar with the style or the method so I really have no idea. Thank you SO much!

Love the MG round! Bit flat to carry many of my things though
Even more hat-box shaped is the Le Seau from Perrin Paris'. Showing you their signature Pannier too becuae I think you will appreciate it

Love, love, love these - round bags are my favourite shape

Yes, they are made of wood so they are relatively heavy. Not prohibitively so - my wife has no issues with carrying it around all day. If you go to their website, only the 30cm version doesn't come with a shoulder strap. They look fantastic, especially the wood one, which really does stand out from the crowd. The alligator one would surely be a head-turner as well!

Wow! I love Le Seau, but I'm *completely* fascinated by Pannier! The shape is truly extraordinary. Not to mention the lovely color. I actually remember Perrin Paris from an earlier discussion where you mentioned it alongside Launer. I don't know why I didn't look them up earlier- that must be rectified. Thank you so much!

The wooden one is very special indeed! It immediately caught my eye for sure. I really do adore the shape so much, I think it is a perfect mix between vintage and modern styles.

Replies to this thread are precisely the reason why I love tPF so much- that I can gain knowledge beyond what's most popular on social media at the moment or most well-known brands. Sincere thanks to both of you

This Laurel Dasso bag came to mind. It's listed on Etsy as the structured train case. Not as perfectly round as the Circle bag but leather looks tougher.

Thank you, I'd admired her bags on Etsy before! I'm looking for something slightly more streamlined, but that is a gorgeous bag indeed.

I have a fabulous Rachel Comey Aleso straw hatbox bag.
Here's a link the same one I have. It is truly an attention grabber!!

Really, what a perfect bag for the summer and the beach! Beatiful. Thanks for the suggestion!
