Has anyone tried to get their Bottega Veneta bags with color transfer stains cleaned/repaired professionally?

Hi all,

So my parakeet green Loop bag is a casualty of color transfer and I am afraid to touch it/clean it myself. I was wondering if anyone has tried to get their Bottega Veneta bags that had color transfer stains repaired?

I called Bottega earlier and was told that they can’t promise to take off the color transfer stain, but will send the bag out for inspection and would “clean” it if they could. Has anyone else experienced this? What was the outcome?

Would love to know your thoughts. Thank you!

Let Bottega Veneta handle it, and as you saw on another thread, do NOT USE WIPES OF ANY KIND unless they are specifically made for leather bags (not furniture). Historically color transfer has been impossible to remove.

Agree. I’m not certain, but I thought perhaps a member like @docride said time is of essence, so I would take it to BV ASAP and not wait. Color transfer is an issue of your clothing, so I would also make sure that what you wear is color safe. That is one reason why i store my lightest garments next to similar colored items, to prevent color transfer even in my closet. (of course, it would be best to store clothing with plenty of breathing room. But that’s not always possible for the space challenged

@sparklywacky I was doing some research on something else and found this thread (I'd forgotten about) for cleaning color transfer off our beloved BV bags - definitely worth a shot here, and it does work. Here's two links, actually:

I’m not sure about Bottega Veneta but I just had a light color transfer from black denim shorts onto Chanel light pink trendy wallet on the chain and really small stain on orange Hermes mini Evelyne. I switched bags during the day and didn’t notice color transfer until the next day. So I decided to try micelllar water for sensitive skin that I use to remove make up. I put it on q tip and first swapped lightly on the bottom edge of wallet to see if it won’t damage the leather. It removed the color transfer but leather was fine. So I wiped whole back using cotton pad and micellar water. With Evelyne I first tried a small leather part on the belt, to make sure it won’t stain the leather, and after I made sure it was safe, I did same with bag. But I had only light color transfer on both
