Has anyone had peeling on their Chanel Deauville leather handles?

Hello! I'm still new to posting and trying to grasp where I can post what questions... I'm looking to purchase my first Chanel Deauville and it will be pre loved. The seller has photos of the handles and comments there is slight peeling... has this happened to anyone else or is this a warning sign not to buy. This would be an investment for me and I'm still trying to understand everything about Chanel Deauville totes. I appreciate any insights or tips and any grace to a newbie like me :)

I have many deauville totes and never experienced any peeling. If it was me I would pass on this - there are so many to be found on the preloved market I'm sure you can find one without this flaw. They are practically and hear wearing bags. My tips if you want it to last is - get a bag insert (I used Samorga) to preserve structure and secondly go for darker colours if you are going to use it often. My darker ones still look new however my light coloured ones I am much more careful.

Thank you! From the ID this Deauville would be from 2017-2018. I did a search for Chanel Deauville but I didn't search by year and will try this! Thank you again!

I have not experienced any peeling but considering it’s a beach bag it was likely exposed to salt water, chlorine or sunscreen so that might be the possible cause. Mine usually has a tiny pile of sand in the bottom….I agree they are generally very durable bags so I might pass on this one.

That was my thought too... Sunscreen maybe... thank you for your insight!
