Has anyone found Chanel costume earrings to be painful and heavy?

Good evening everyone, I went to three different Chanel boutiques with the hopes of purchasing an item (ultimately I tried one on that I thought of buying).

When trying them on in Bergdorf Goodman, my ears immediately turned pink and felt heavy and it itched a bit.

It was sad as I thought I’d be able to wing a pair of Chanel earrings but it looks like I’ll just have to stick with real gold and fine jewelry.

Has anyone else experienced this? Myself in the picture trying on the earrings in BG. You can see how it’s heavy and my ears are a bit pink.IMG_5585.jpeg

That doesn't look like big earrings. I think your reaction is due to the fact that your ears can only take real gold or platinum. Mine are built the same way too, but I can still withstand just a few hours, but not long. So I don't have many pairs of Chanel earrings.

But I do like Chanel necklaces and belts. Hahaha.    :P

It was so heavy and looked big on me when I tried it on. It felt so uncomfortable.

I do like their belts as well and I’m not opposed to buying one either. I tried one on last week but it didn’t fit.

I’m found out that I am allergic to real gold so I have started dipping into costume jewelry. I bought a pair of Chanel earrings earlier this year and they were itchy the first time I wore them out so I painted the posts with clear nail polish and it’s been fine since.

Back in the day when all Chanel earrings were clip on (1980s), I would hold them in my hand to see how heavy they were and a lot of them were heavy. I guess it would be a wise thing to do even today even if they are for pierced ears. I chalked up their big and heavy earrings as being for runway because there was no way I could wear them all day.

I had to pass on them but they were indeed heavy. I immediately had a reaction to them.
