I just read this. Wow, $100 million... I bet that's HW's inflated designer prices, so who knows the real value of the merchandise they stole. :confused1: They couldn't resell many of the pieces, so I'm guessing a lot of it will be melted down or sold as raw materials.

This actually was a fantastic win for Harry Winston. Reason? Their prices are over-inflated like most designer pieces and so there was no way they could have sold all those goods ($100 million worth) within any reasonable time-frame.

I suspect Insurance will cover most of the stolen goods; of which the true value without markup probably in the range of $5 million. Bet HW is having a field day.

I wonder what their rider actually was though.. I mean, businesses carry substantial insurance, but it seems like a lot don't cover entire inventory.

These sorts of businesses make so much money they can basically afford to insure their entire inventory against all sorts of mishaps. But I'm guessing HW's insurance premiums will sure to go up after that $100 million hit.

It must be the time of year! The jewelry shop down the road from ym shop has just been raid! Its sells everything, Rolex, cartier, Patek philippe, Jaeger Le Coultre, and the ring etc in there are to die for. It must be the time of year! I was in there on Saturday! I wouldn't mind but they have doormen and you have to ring a bell to get it.
They walked in and put a smoke bomb off in there! There are some scumbags around aren't there!!

I would think the stolen pieces could easily be sold on the black market in various countries.
