This actually was a fantastic win for Harry Winston. Reason? Their prices are over-inflated like most designer pieces and so there was no way they could have sold all those goods ($100 million worth) within any reasonable time-frame.
I suspect Insurance will cover most of the stolen goods; of which the true value without markup probably in the range of $5 million. Bet HW is having a field day.
I wonder what their rider actually was though.. I mean, businesses carry substantial insurance, but it seems like a lot don't cover entire inventory.
I just read this. Wow, $100 million... I bet that's HW's inflated designer prices, so who knows the real value of the merchandise they stole. They couldn't resell many of the pieces, so I'm guessing a lot of it will be melted down or sold as raw materials.
