Also, I have recently been advised ruthenium is special order only for bags - one of the cons of this hardware (according to the store) is the tarnishing, which is why they are phasing it out.

My Hapi bracelet has RH and it does tarnish quickly. But I love it...

I actually asked about SOing it, Mrs S, and was told I could, but it's no longer offered as standard. I think unless you know about it, and specifically request it, they won't offer it.

I have a bag charm in ruthenium and I noticed that if I touch a charm it shows my fingerprint tarnish right away. At first I was annoyed by this but then I realized I had two options: I could just touch all of the charms uniformly and therefore get them all equally darkened, or I could wipe the tarnished charm with a cloth. I chose the former.

Opinions/Votes...with everything you know and have learned...which hardware option seems to produce the least issues/problems over time?

My vote is Palladium or perhaps Guilloche, since it won't show scratches.

The belt I just purchased had hammered Palladium. I had not seen this and I just loved the look. It has some shiny parts and brushed looking parts. Here is a pic

I do like the hammered look as well...never heard if that is even a possibility on a bag.

Orchids, do you know if guilloche is still an option that can be ordered?

I tried last time and it didn't go through, but I'm not sure if my SA did it as a standard podium order or as a S.O. I could have sworn she said S.O., but I could be wrong. Also, when I talked to an SA at 24 FSH, he said they were no longer doing it on handbags.
