donno if everybody has this problem or not. once the bbag gets old, it gets kinda worn out, which the leather becomes sooo soft. is there anyway to harden it? like, if there's some leather lotion or w/e i can put on the bbag which can make the leather harder

Thanks alot! :P:P

Most leather gets softer as it is used. The only time it does not, is when it is goes into storage for a long time: then, it becomes brittle.

I think the joy of used bags is that they do become wonderfully soft and supple!

However, if you do wish to firm up the leather, I believe the only way to do this is to paint over it, rather re-dye (which will sometimes soften it even further)... but I really wouldn't attempt to firm up the Bbag leather, as part of its leather's characteristics is to go soft.

OH MY.. BAL is supposed to get smooshy and softer as it ages. I cannot imagine trying to "harden" it.
If it's the loss of "shape" that you do not like, I would advise SELL the older one and just get a new one, which would be "firmer". Or simply buy a more structured style of bag that tends not to lose it's shape so much as it ages.

:wtf:omg noooo, the beauty of bbags is just the fact they become softer and broken in with use....stiff leather is horrible:tdown:

This is exactly the problem im getting. if you look in the pic, you'll know what im talking about.
its not that i dont like my bbag anymore, in fact that im loving it more and more that i always shop for more :P its just the place on the side below the handles are getting too soft that it can't support the bag no more, which the bag is getting a bit out of shape ..... or its just me that's thinking too much....

Try salt water. I've read somewhere that salt will make the leather drier hence it's harden. Well, but in the same time, it'll also ruin the leather coz the surface'll be drier, KWIM? So, I wouldn't do it if I were you. I think you better get a new, more structured, bag. Or maybe put some sort of purse organizer inside the bag instead to make it look more of a form?

My page didn't load your post. I have to say your bag's gorgeous and that's what the ultimate Bal should be.

Well, I can only say I just wish my bag will be like yours some day.
