hangtag case question

I just bought the red metallic hangtag multifunction case, and the care card says to only wipe with a dry cloth. I usually apple condition and rain guarde all my leather stuff when i get them because of the weather here in WA. Would that ruin the metallic on it. I haven't bought anything in the metallic leather before. But want to make sure it's really protected from the rain and whatever else.

I've Rain Guarded Coach Leather bags and shoes before to try and keep the metallic finish from wearing off, but have never tried to use the Apple Conditioner on anything metallic before.....

I think the spray is ok but definitely don't use any sort of lotion where you could rub off the finish.
