I like some hand-made jewelry - the quality pieces. I've made some of my own, some of it pretty good.
Handmade can either be arts-n-crafts looking or artisian looking. I agree that the artisian looking is becoming more popular and I have seen many pieces that I like. I enjoy browsing on Etsy and have picked up a few pieces I really like. Mind you there's a lot of arts-n-crafts looking pieces as well. However, if you look you can find some good quality pieces at reasonable prices.
I have been into handmade myself lately. I layer it with my high-end jewelry for a truly individual look. My favorite is the crocheted leather items I've picked up at SKM artoworks. I don't have the link, but if you can't find it, definately PM me for the info.
I have some jewelry set by and designed with my jeweler. For example a ring that we designed for a big Tahiti pearl, or a large aquamarin. But that's probably not what you mean. These are not the 'arts-n-crafty' pieces.
