Handles on LV Monogram papillon 30 won't turn to patina?

Hi,

I am just wondering is it true that handle on the LV monogram papillon 30 won't turn to patina color because LV used to use this kind of leather? Somebody is selling her bag on my local ads told me. Makes me wonder is there such things?

There were two types of Papillon bags. The early ones had leather that didn't turn (I didn't like them - the leather is a very odd color and not nearly as pretty). Then they changed to the regular vachetta leather, which is much prettier IMO. So, in answer to your question - yes, there was a papillon bag many years ago with treated leather that does not turn.

Be careful - lots of fakes in this bag.

I think it's similar to the leather on the French Co Speedys. It won't patina.
