Hey everyone! I recently paid the amazing price of $45 for a cute little vintage Gucci bag! I knew there were a couple scuffs and scratches, but after receiving it this morning, the corners are a little worse for wear than I anticipated. I'm definitely not afraid of a DIY restoration job (I've done relatively minor ones in the past), but I'm wondering what the best way to go about it is! I'm not searching for perfection (plus, I paid 40 dollars LOL), but I'd love to fix some of the obvious corner wear. I'd love some help from some more seasoned professionals

I've posted some pictures of the corners as well as some of the surface level scuffs. I'll probably be heading over to pick up some leather conditioner this afternoon!

(PS: if anyone knows anything about this bag, let me know! I've seen similar models before, but it's quite uncommon from the searching I've done!)20210209_115033.jpg20210209_115109.jpg20210209_115850.jpg

I have had really good experiences with angelus leather paint. if you can match or have the eye to mix the correct color it will make an amazing difference. I recently restored a vintage dolce and the grey paint did not match exactly but when I mixed in some brown and a touch of black in it was perfect. Took me three tries on a small spot to get the color as you have to wait until it dries to see if it is an exact match but it increased the value significantly.

You can also buy leather edging wax on ebay or etsy or local cobblers. I used the other end of a small paint brush to apply along the edges. Makes a huge difference in the look.
