What handbag brands, luxury or contemporary have "lost their touch" in your opinion? The quality of the bag isn't there anymore, but once was, or the brand is just "blah" to you. Spill your guts ladies!

One for me is Michael Kors. I used to want the Hamilton bag but when I saw one of MK's totes I was so disgusted. The tote was a direct copy of the Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene material. Checkered print and all. I have been done with MK ever since. I won't buy a handbag, shoes, perfume, nothing!

I would say mk, at first i was really into the selmas and hamiltons and got a few of each but then after that i just didnt like the new purses he came out with and now the brand is just what ever to me but i still love my mk handbags. Coach was going down hill too until their swagger line launched. I didnt get one though, instead i got the prairie satchel with chain.

Prada is still producing nice looking bags but their quality has gone down. And now that they're making some of their bags in China they have definitely lost some of their luster.

Coach: styles are getting more fashion forward, but prices are going up and quality is going down.

Rebecca Minkoff: leather isn't what it used to be.

Prada and Burberry: I'm not paying premier prices for lower labor costs. The quality may still be good, but the profit margin is too high for me to appreciate.

Goyard: quality not where it used to be.

There was a brief episode in my life, lasted about 2 mths, when I wanted a MK bag. Now it seems all MK does is copy other designers and can't come up with anything original.

Mulberry certainly took a step downwards when it introduced microfibre lining to its bags. So, instead of suede, thick cotton or no lining at all, you get a cheap-looking and -feeling fabric that just sucks all the dirt and doesn't reflect the nowadays-way-too-high price point.

I shake bones & sticks @ it, whenever in store.
Trying to exorcise the fake suede evil.
However, real suede lining hasn't returned yet. :(

Totally agree on the MK points - every time I walk into a department store and see those MK bags, it makes me want to scream how copy cat they are getting with all sorts of styles! I personally wouldn't mind purchasing a bag (at a steep discount) if I can just yank that MK off and no one knows it's an MK bag, haha.

I used to think Kate Spade bags are cute, but that brand has also went the way of copy catting a la MK. You can probably put both side by side (logos hidden) and can't tell which is Kate Spade and which is MK!

Alexander Wang: I used to love his bags a few years ago. Perhaps he was too busy with running Balenciaga and his own brand became an afterthought. His namesake bags just don't catch my eye anymore.

Chloe: The designs aren't cohesive. Other than the popular bags like Marcie, I can't pick out what is a Chloe bag because they lack a signature style/look/vision.

Celine: Got bored with the popular styles that were launched a few years ago and nothing intrigued me in recent years.

Mulberry: Quality issues. I had a stud fall off a brand new bag. Also, the designs are lacking.

Rebecca Minkoff. I own two bags from when she first started. I still have them and love them. Amazing quality. Went to Bloomingdale's because I'd been hankering for a mini MAC. The quality of the leather is terrible. It actually feels fake. For the price, I just couldn't even though, in the grand scheme of things, it's relatively inexpensive. I'll never get rid of the two that I have. I ended up buying a Frye bag that was cheaper than the RM. The leather is divine.
