OK - shoot me now - I don't think I like the quilted ones. I know, blasphemy, right? And the only one I would consider I think won't be available - the quilted one in MEDIUM size gunmetal. I already have a black Hamilton (and a black ID chain) so I don't want another black MK. I'm honestly not crazy about the red which is why I ordered the Astor shoulder bag from ebay. Right now at least on the MK website, the medium quilted only comes in red and black.

But I also don't want to buy a bag just because it's popular on here. I always managed to avoid that when I was hanging out in the Coach subforum. As a matter of fact, I'm a bit of a rebel and as soon as something becomes the "it" bag it kind of immediately turns me off. The Hamilton seems to be turning into that as well, so that kind of makes me want to get something else instead.

If I do want another Hamilton it would either be the mocha or the python, but I have a feeling the medium python is going to be really hard to find. I'm in Canada with very limited places to score MK.

Anyway, just kind of rambling over my morning coffee.

crissy, just stick to your guns! Even though these bags aren't as expensive as others it's still a lot of money to invest in something you're not totally in love with.

I have been guilty of getting sucked into buying a bag (that means you Rebecca Minkoff) but have learned to take a step back and only buy what works for me.

I also have been questioning about whether or not I will get a Hamilton. Like you said, they are super popular, but will it work for me?!

Exactly!! And the bottom line is that I am not a satchel person. I feel so much more comfortable carrying a shoulder bag. I'm glad I have the Hamilton because it truly is a beautiful bag, but I'm just not sure that I want another one. As gorgeous as it is, I have to admit that I'm not as comfortable carrying it as I am a shoulder bag.

And as great as it is as a shoulder bag - it's still not the same as a real actual shoulder bag.

So I do agree and support you in not buying a Hamilton unless you REALLY want one and know it will work for you. Don't get caught up in the Hamilton hype. :p Unless you truly love it - and that is a dfferent story altogether!

the mocha one is on my Xmas wishlist with a great pair of MK sunnies I want!!!! I am hoping Santa is good to me b/c I have been a very good girl this year!!!!

Thanks for your support crissy!! I have lost way too much $ on the idea of particular bags, if you know what I mean! Plus you seem to have a similar handbag preference as me (shoulder bags all the way) and if you say it's not totally comfy, I know it won't work for me. I get so irritated with bags that aren't comfortable for me.

Have you seen the Colette shoulder bags? I love the leather on those!! I have the shoulder tote that I think it pretty cool!?

Did you post a picture of it on here somewhere? I should check it out the next time I'm in the store. I have a feeling that one is stupid expensive here. I hate how the pics look on the MK website, the bags always look nicer IRL, which is why I'd love to see a pic of yours. :D What color is it?

I just found the pic you posted of it - OMG STUNNING!!!!! Now I want one. . . . it's exactly my kind of bag. I wonder how much it is here. I checked ebay - not much there. The leather looks gorgeous!!!

Thanks crissy! The texture of the leather gives it a lot of personality!!

Be patient, I have seen some (poorly listed) on ebay, when you do searches, search "Collette" and "Colette"...the majority of the ones I have seen on the bay have been misspelled. I have seen the tote (like mine) in aubergine at Macy's, it's TDF...

You and I are so alike in this regard! I really am a shoulder bag/messenger bag girl and am most comfortable with those styles. I adore my Hamilton and find it very comfortable but it really fills my need for times when a more formal satchel is needed. So, while I love love love my Hamilton, one is perfect and plenty for me.
