Hi everyone :)! I'm new to the Michael Kors forum, I usually hang out in the Coach and Louis Vuitton forums, but I have fallen hopelessly in love with the NS large Hamilton in black with gold hardware and am about to pull the trigger during the upcoming Macy's sale but I have a few questions. While I love the feel and look of the regular Hamilton, I am not a fan of the slouch especially how it bunches up around the handles, so I am leaning toward getting the Saffiano. But I went into Dillard's today and noticed their black regular leather seemed much thicker and stiffer, and it also seemed more pebbled. Is this a third type of Hamilton? Or am I just crazy and the other ones I have seen could possibly be just more broken in? Also, I was wondering if I do decide to go with the regular leather does anyone use a purse organizer that will make the Hamilton stand at attention so to speak and also prevent the bunching at the short handles? Wish I could honestly help you, all I can say is that I went to Macy's and Dillards and compared the regular leather to the Saffiano and Saffiano won me over. I really went to after the regular leather but out of the ones they had, the leather felt a little thin-ish or flimsy to say and I knew over time that it would be a puddle.... I wouldn't mind a little bit of sag but I know it would be more than that over time. I did love the buttery feel of the regular leather though but preferred the look of the Saffiano, JMO! Maybe more will post and be of better help to you, Best of luck, you can't really go wrong with either :)

Did you happen to notice a difference between the leather at Dillard's and Macy's too? The black regular leather at Dillard's was very stiff and seemed more pebbled, while the black one they had on display at Macy's was very buttery soft and slouchy. I was just wondering if it is a different leather possibly or maybe the Macy's one had been on display longer and was just more broken in?

No not honestly, Dillards and Macy's regular leather felt the same to me. Maybe the one you seen that was stiff and pebbled is thicker leather and you should grab that one, as leather of course is all different as far as texture, etc. I just didn't like how thin the ones I had to choose from felt so I went with Saffiano.

Thank you for your help :). I'm probably going to go with the Saffiano. I don't mind slouchy leather on most bags, but I don't like the way it looks on the Hamilton, and I would be too afraid even the stiff one I saw would end up slouchy too.

I personally think that is a great choice, plus Saffiano will relax a little over time and is scratch and water resistant. ;)

I just posted my MK hamilton NS tote picture on the which MK bag are you wearing today thread. My bag is around a year old and I love the slouchy look on mine. It does not have that slouch around the handles I have seen on other hamiltons. I can't say how the leather is compared to other bags from different stores. I purchased my bag at TJ Maxx.

I you want the structured look go for the staffiano leather bag. I have one in saffiano leather and I love it too.
