H keychain question. Pls help?

So today I got excited receiving my first ever keychain ....

But then I couldn't "open" it to fit in the car key. So here comes my silly question - There is a break section but no hinge so short of breaking it into two .. How do you open it? There's hardly any "give" in the break. Or am I supposed to open it at all? Thanks for any helpful hints!

Well, the receipt says its a Porte cles pompon argente..

Now that I can see a better photo, I think you are opening it incorrectly. Don't try to pull it apart, turn the pieces to the side, if you understand what I'm saying....so take one thumb and put it on the top piece, and the other thumb on the bottom and push one to the left, one to the right. Don't try to open it by widening it...top to bottom (if that makes sense!)

There is a chain (long) with this as a pendant too but this one that Noneeta has got is a keychain.

I've got an Hermes keychain with similar ring. Just put both thumbs or both index inside the ring and pull apart in opposite direction. It will click open.
