Hi, I trying to decide if I should get what I can afford or what I am dreaming of. Currently, I have a yellow gold vintage alhambra pendant necklace. Should I buy the guilloche earrings (£4550) now or wait for a few years before buying the matching yellow gold diamond earrings (£10800)? Both have the classic alhambra motiff. But, the diamond earrings have a significantly higher price tag. I'm not sure if I want to pay almost double the price for the diamond over the guilloche. At the same time, I wonder if I'll regret buying the guilloche and wish that I've purchased the diamond earrings in the first place. Your expert opinions (and pictures) will be very much welcomed. Thank you.

I think it always pays to go with your heart with fine (and/or high) jewellery.

I wish I had read this forum first before venturing into VCA….most valuable piece of advice I have learned is save for the higher price item always! Don’t settle… it will be a waste of money because eventually you will get the piece you really wanted.
Don’t settle. I can’t believe I got the pave ring when it was $3500 - should have added the earrings too.
Buy the one that makes your heart sing. Don't settle. In the meantime, you can wear the VA pave necklace with the frivole earrings. They look great together too!
Agree with the above. Focus on your #1, even if it is the higher price. You will take a steps back towards what you really want if you settle. This is the difficulty with VCA .. there are wonderful other options that can be too distracting!
Do you plan to wear the two together? Guicholle is even shinier and more beautiful than the pave...

This has been on my mind once too, but it’s white mop vintage alhambra earrings or the full paved one, if white mop then it would be just a styling but diamond you bite the bullet and it matches with anything and everything lol I don’t have big vca collection so I would bite the bullet to get the most versatile pieces that can go with anything in my wardrobe. Plus once I get it it’s really peace of mind and checklist completed so I don’t spend time looking and thinking about owning the second piece of their earrings lol
It is true, while painful, i bit the bullet ans got the WG pave onyx 5 motif bracelet that is my absolute love! I dont regret it, although when i think of the price tag, i still cringe and frown lol. I love VCA Pave pieces, but the price tag is indeed annoying for what it is
