I recently purchased the 5 motif guilloche and diamond bracelet as I wanted it for a while and wanted to get my most expensive wish list item as I know price increases are inevitable. Now I’m a bit worried about how it will hold with time.
All my other VCA pieces are either hammered YG/ RG or diamond and this will be my first guilloche. What do you all think? Am I better off getting the 16 sweet motif hammered RG instead? I’m not keen on spending 14k on mother of pearl or malachite/ diamond combo so that is not an option (they are gorgeous but even less durable than gold). thanks ☺️

I think it honestly depends on your lifestyle and how you wear bracelets. If you don’t stack and take them off when you’re at home I think it will be fine. If you’re worried about scratches I wouldn’t wear the guilloche stacked with anything else and I wouldn’t wear it 24/7 to do house chores either. Desk job might be ok depending on how your wrists are positioned, if you find your bracelet scraping against the laptop/computer or desk you could wear a sports tennis band around the bracelet to protect it (not glamorous or pretty I know).

For what it’s worth I don’t baby mine but I don’t wear it often either due to the weight and I don’t prefer to wear VA bracelets for long periods (my eyes tire of the size), but when I do wear it I still stack with my other bracelets and I shower and do chores with it on. Both my sisters have worn their guilloche and guilloche pave bracelets more than I do and theirs does look a bit more dull if you put it side by side with a new one if you look closely. And because they wear theirs to shower, lotion, work out, etc it doesn’t look as shiny as a brand new one but after a good cleaning it’s still very pretty IMO. They enjoy wearing it and don’t mind the wear and tear. If you prefer to keep yours looking pristine it would require a bit of effort to ensure it stays that way compared to a hammered or all pave, but I still find it more low maintenance than MOP/Malachite/stone based bracelets.

Thank you so much!
I am not planning to wear it 24/7 or to work for that matter. I also won’t stack it so based on what you are saying sounds like I’m playing it safe. I wouldn’t mind some scratches, I was just debating if that’s worth the money. I wish VCA would come out with hammered gold and diamond option!

Side note, sounds like you have a lovely collection

In that case I think you’ll be totally fine then! Some people can’t stand that the guilloche sunburst pattern traps some oil or dust but because it’s solid gold and diamonds I just shower with it and pat dry with a towel and it’s all shiny and clean again. I haven’t babied mine and I don’t inspect closely enough to mind any hairline scratches, to my eyes they still look plenty shiny! Congrats on your bracelet and enjoy in the best of health!

I do agree it’s pricy for what it is given the additional cost for the diamonds vs non-diamond version. However, it is gorgeous and if it makes your heart sing, it is absolutely worth it!

Thank you, sounds like I’m keeping it.
I have an appointment to get it resized too :)

I love the idea of actually showering with it and I know that like you, I wouldn’t t mind the hairline scratches!

Yeah, so pricey now, and I do think the additional cost (9k more than the 5 guilloche?!) just for 2 diamond motif is crazy. But I guess given that the one motif necklace is already at 9k maybe it makes sense?

Thank you so much!
