Gucci Store at Rome Airport (Fiumicino)

Hello! Does anyone know if I can make a duty free purchase at the Gucci store at Fiumicino upon arrival (without having to go through the usual VAT paperwork process)? Or is the duty free price only awarded when departing from Europe? I am from the US and will be traveling to Spain and Italy. I am hoping to purchase the Soho Disco in black at the airport to avoid having to deal with VAT paperwork. The only airport that I will be passing through that has a Gucci store is Fiumicino. I purchased at the Rome store by the Spanish Steps. I can tell you that the SA will provide and fill out the paperwork for you. You are already at the airport so immediately go to customs and have them give you your VAT back...

At the airport, you can only buy tax-free when you are leaving the EU.
Otherwise, you have to buy at a regular store and go through the VAT refund process.
