First off forgive me if this has been posted previously - I searched and couldn't find anything... I was browsing Gucci.com today and came across their link to the new Gucci Museo in Florence. After the Gucci show this past Milan Fashion Week, VIP's took the train to Florence for the big Grand Opening and Gala. Not to many details about the museum itself were discussed, so it was interesting to read today that it is a permanent museum, open to the public (unlike the Hermes museum). There are 3 floors with different themed rooms (flora, logomania, evening wear, etc...), as well as space for contemporary art and film exhibitions. The most amazing part is the Icon store where they will sell Limited Edition/Exclusive pieces.

Has anyone been or is planning to go? I know it will be a while before I get back to Florence!

I went there right after the opening and it was very interesting. They had many vintage handbags, luggage, jewelry and Gucci Premiere gowns. And it is right in the center of Florence.

So jealous! Did you check out the Icons shop? anything drool worthy?
The Icons shop? i assume it's the little store by the gift shop? if yes, then they had beautiful New Bamboo's, New Jackie, and Stirrup bags in leather and crocodile, but everything way out of my price range. I did buy a book in the gift shop, but they also had cute GG totes for about 150 euro and other miscellaneous accessories.

Awesome, the book store looked really cool, it can be hard to find good art books! Thanks for the info.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Gucci Museum in Florence today and it was a dream! The museum is on the 2nd and 3rd floors and admission is 8 euros. The first floor consists of 2 stores that are pretty much museums themselves and all of the items are exclusive to the Gucci Garden. We’re planning on going to the cafe on Thursday so I can post some more photos then!IMG_3276.jpgIMG_3277.jpgIMG_3286.jpgIMG_3291.jpgIMG_3314.jpgIMG_3316.jpgIMG_3322.jpgIMG_3326.jpgIMG_2322.jpg

This is awesome! I’ve never been to Florence (or Italy) and I’d like to plan a trip just to see this!

I was just there and did not go to this. There were others in our party that are not fashion lovers so I felt like we should stick with the basics, Duomo, leather market, statue of David, etc. Darn, should have insisted we go! Looks fun! Let us know about the cafe! I did get to make a very nice purchase in the Rome Gucci boutique.
