Hi handbag lovers, ok, I'm a pretty liberal person. Live and let live but now I have to compete with men for a handbag?? I ordered the Gucci GG embossed black leather bag for $2300 on the Gucci site. I started researching and looking at you tube video because I like to see reviews on bags before I purchase. This bag seems to be a part of Gucci's men's collection. Now I feel like I'll be sporting a man's handbag! I'm 5'1 and 100lbs. Will I look silly sporting this bag? It's not very big. I want it for work. I shouldn't even have to think twice about it but I feel like anyone who knows bags will say "look at this little woman wearing a man's bag". Lol. More than half of the population would be saying the opposite if they saw a man carrying it:) HELP!

Is the isssue the bag is big for you or that it’s a mans bag? I can only speak for LV but I have a few mens bags and have no problem carrying them. Also I am sure there are men Carrying women’s bags. I think today it’s doesn’t matter they look fine on either gender. I actuall have liked the mens bags from LV for awhile...
Do you have a picture of the bag? I think I found it on the website and it looks pretty gender neutral...

Definitely not a size issue. I like big bags for work. It’s actually not huge according to the description and measurements. I think because I’m over 50 I’m still trying to adjust to the whole unisex thing especially with handbags. I’m from the day where men only wore Fanny packs( bum bags). However having gay uncles who wore camera cases as a bag because they grew up in the 60s and 70s and would have been beaten wearing something else… I’m pretty liberal and reasonably progressive. Now that I wrote a novel. I appreciate your response. I’ll wait until it arrives and then decide how it looks on me

I have a couple of designer men’s bags (including Gucci) and I find them very practical and good looking too. I wouldn’t worry about it. They are great for work. Wear what you like. For reference, I tend to be quite feminine with my personal style and also a more ‘mature’ demographic, I’m not an urban youngster.
I have received complements on my bags. Most people won’t notice it’s from the men’s section and if someone like me does know they will think you are ‘in the know’ with your fashion. :flowers:

I have several bags that were originally intended for men form Gucci, MJ (although DH actually has that now) and Hermes.

Anything over 38cm seems to automatically pushed towards the men too, so what? Women don't get travel bags, or need a large bag for worK?

I hope you won't take any notice. A great bag chooses us and not the other way round - regardless of our gender.

I love that quote! That's exactly what I will tell my husband when my new Chloe arrives with Fedex this week!! She found me:)
