Gucci Marmot worth the price?

What’s your experience with the Gucci Marmont Small bag in velour? I’m thinking about buying one in red velour.

Velour or leather? And why?
How is the wear and tear? How well does the bag keep it’s shape and color? Is it worth the price?

I've been eyeing the leather version over the velvet (which is gorgeous!) mostly because I live in the south and I feel like I'll get more wear out of the leather. If I already had the leather I'd totally go for the velvet. One Marmont at a time

As much as I LOVE the velvet, leather is more practical.
A- it’s all seasons where I feel velvet is fall winter only
B- more stain resistant
But the velvet is beautiful

I think the velvet is more special. If you have other leather flap bags I'd for the velvet

I second Leather over Velvet. I just find leather bags more aesthetically appealing to the eye. I mean velvet is nice & cute too but my eyes values leather bags over fabric, canvas or velvet. Also, I find leather to be more classic and season less. You can wear all year long and don’t have to worry over staining it as you would do with Velvet.

I’ve had this bag in velvet for a year now. Every time I use it, I get tons of compliments. The red color is much richer and vibrant in velvet. I have seen the leather version in person & it is a more dull color. The interior of the velvet bag is very bright blue satin, very pretty! That being said, I already had a Gucci marmont bag in white leather.
