Gucci marmont super mini smell?

Hi! First time posting in the Gucci forum.

I had purchased my first ever Gucci marmont super mini bag and received it today from Neiman Marcus. I was wondering if anyone else who has this bag noticed a certain smell to it when you first got it? Maybe it's just me but when I opened the box, I was taken back a little.. almost like a plastic-y smell? I do know it got shipped from their warehouse so maybe that's it? I am used to Chanel and LV leather bags so this is my first Gucci bag and didn't know what to expect. I know eventually it'll go away but just wondering if it's just me. Probably. haha..

Hi - Not this bag, but I have received bags from NM before that had a really strong chemical smell. One was so bad I returned it. I think maybe it's just from being new and hasn't had a chance to air out after production. If you love the bag, maybe let it air out for a few days and if it doesn't improve you can return it. Although the replacement may have the same smell.

Thanks for the reply and for your experience with bags from NM! That's exactly what it was.. a strong chemical smell. I should let it air out for a week and see where it's at (smell-wise). Much appreciate it!

This happened to me a couple years ago after buying a gucci swing bag from the gucci sale. I let it air out for a week and then it was fine. I was disappointed about the smell at first, but I am glad i kept the bag because I use it everyday.
