I really like the marmont, but I’m scared it will be outdated in a few year. While the prada diagramme flap bag seems more timeless.

Personally I think you're right and the diagramme is a more timeless option. The Marmont is lovely but it's everywhere, which may mean it will date a bit more. Ultimately though they are both quilted flap bags and I can't see either dating too badly. Which colour are you thinking? Do you like having the 'it' bag or do you prefer something more under the radar?
Full disclosure: I may be biased because I have the diagramme in pink I it! I think it's under appreciated, the quality is (so far) excellent and I like the fact that you don't see many people with it. I've tried on the marmont and I was a bit disappointed with it - it didn't feel as luxe as I'd hoped. Everyone who has it seems to rave about it though.
Ultimately though there's no point in getting the diagramme if you're going to look at it and wish it was the marmont!
