Tried this bag on today! Love both the red and the black. Can’t decide which to go for. The red is beautiful and fun. I’m looking for a casual everyday bag. I think black is more practical. But the red really speaks to me. I wear mostly black and mostly black purses. So red would be a nice new touch. It would be a great pop to any causal outfit. But is it too much. Would I get more use out of the black? I’d love to get both but can’t! Thoughts??View attachment 4118566View attachment 4118567

First, I want to say that both bags are gorgeous! For me, for bags at this price point, this is what I consider after I've had some pricey mistakes. I have to be able to use them a lot. I find my bag wardrobe consists of mostly black, white, metallic bronzes and golds, dark blues. I had 2 red bags, and although, I loved the pop of color, I found it difficult to incorporate red bags into my wardrobe/lifestyle and have since sold them. I couldn't justify the price point of those bags for the 2 or 3 times a year I was using it. So just think about your lifestyle, wardrobe and COST PER WEAR. If I were to choose, I would choose black. In fact, I have the black camera bag :) Your lifestyle and needs could be different than mine. I just simply wanted to share my thoughts and get you thinking about what to consider when choosing.. Either one is really a gorgeous choice!

Gucci does really beautiful reds! I think the black is more practical, though. With my red/bright colored bags, I have to watch for color transfer more (like will it touch my dark denim?), and I feel like it's a little harder to condition away small scratches/marks. That bag has a fairly long shoulder strap, so I think you'd have to be somewhat careful, whereas the black would be more carefree for everyday. For myself, I decided that colorful bags need to be something that's smaller and more specialty, so it's likely a situation where I can take a bit more care anyway. Good luck deciding.....love the style!

If given the choice, I will always choose black. BUT, in this case, follow your heart and go with the red.
To me, the strap on the black bag makes it a no go. the red, white and blue strap seems mismatched to me. It makes me a little crazy to be honest ;).
The strap is the perfect compliment to the red bag. It's fun. You love it. Go for it. Everyone needs at least one great red bag!

My thoughts exactly about the black bag and strap. My thought was I can easily replace the strap with another black strap. However if I buy the red, it’ll be more difficult to find a red replacement strap. (When I get bored of the canvas strap) My sister said the same thing re: everyone needs one great red bag! Maybe I should just splurge and get both. Lol

LOL. When in doubt, buy both! I am having a similar struggle with the marmont in velvet. I really want the black because, well, it's black! But the sapphire blue looks so vibrant. The struggle is real as they say ;)

BTW - have you looked at these straps? I'm sure you can find a great match to the Gucci red..

Do you have a red bag in your collection? If not get the red.
Gucci makes great reds, and if you love red, you will get more joy seeing red every time you use it. Also if your outfit is neutral or black, do you really need black to tone it down further?
