Hi guys, I’m planning on purchasing my first Gucci bag and need help deciding if I should get the Marmont Flap (either small velvet or small leather - leaning towards the velvet) or Soho Disco? I’m only looking at the black colour.I honestly like the look of the Gucci Marmont flap bag better and it would go with most of my wardrobe, however I feel like the bag has already had its time - I don’t see too many fashionistas rocking the Marmont anymore and I’m afraid of purchasing a trendy bag that will look dated very soon (if not already played out).
I’ve heard amazing things about the Soho Disco - I like how simple it is though it is quite boxy-looking for a crossbody. However it has grown on me and I like the fact that it is considered a more “classic” piece by Gucci and can be worn with super casual outfits. But a lot of my friends and family actually hate the look of the Soho Disco and would rather I just get something else, like a Louis Vuitton Speedy LOL (which could also be considered dated!)
I do not plan on ever selling the bag I purchase and will be using it for many years to come.
What are your thoughts on both bags? Do you prefer one or the other, or should I skip both and just splurge on another brand?
