The Jackie 1961 GG supreme canvas small shoulder bag has recently caught my eye, but i don’t see many mod shots or styling pics on the canvas version as compared to the leather pieces. To me the GG monogram print exudes a more vintage vibe and quite a character. Anyone owning the canvas Jackie has any feedback or downsides to share? Is it more tricky to style and pull off or do you see it as a classic? The price hike has been steep in the last 2 years. For a canvas bag afterall (other than the leather trimming and strap) is it still worth the price? Appreciate any opinions.

I have an absolutely love my medium. IMO, the small was way too tiny for me and even the medium is on the smaller side. It seems so classic to me and will definitely be a piece I can use forever. I feel that the canvas on this bag and sturdier than on my Ophidia tote and seems more durable than the canvas on my current LV bags. I ended up going back later and getting the matching wallet.

Lovely duo! I’m eyeing the latest blue/beige combo canvas, and not one for the mini bag trend so your point about the sizing is making me think twice about the small! Good to hear about the canvas quality. Thanks for sharing, very helpful

I had a original GG-fabric Jackie years ago. I think of it as a classic all-round.

I'm not sure if it was officially a Small or a Med but it felt small to me. It's not the Bouvier (basically flat) but it isn't deep either.

Firstly, the Supreme fabric will be better than the original fabric I had. Possibly I'd still have the bag if it had been in Supreme.

The blue will be a good all-year colour like the brown, and just as classic. I can see someone having this for many years, it will really pay to find the right size for you.

Most of the price for bags is about labour (including our SAs etc) logistics and tempered with popularity. Leather is more expensive to produce and process but the popularity of the GG-print means Gucci will sell them, with some customers they are actually preferred.

That’s so cool - the original Jackie! Great insights there! All makes a lot of sense. Appreciated, thanks! Definitely doing a double think on the size.

Should have made the punctuation clearer. It was from 2005, the fabric at that time was called 'original GG-fabric' a woven canvas that unfortunately had tendencies to fray if there were folds in the bag style (as the Jackie does).

Love this Bag. Is this the small size? Can you tell me how you are enjoying using it? Thank you.
Yes this is the small size  Am still loving it! This is my first monogram bag as I am otherwise more inclined to the minimalist designs (mostly the old Celine bags). To me the Gucci Jackie is a fun addition and I enjoy its classic vintage vibe. I like to style it with denim bottoms and plain shirts/tees. Size wise, it’s a bit limited but good for basic essentials like small/mid-sized wallet, card holder, key pouch and hand sanitiser. The canvas strap is a great addition and fun for a casual dress-up! No regrets for me  Hope this helps!
