Hi All,

First time posting here, but long time reader. I could use some insight.

I am traveling to Scandinavia (Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki, Copenhagen) with my last stop being Copenhagen - so I figured I would take a day to shop before heading home!

I am wondering how the Gucci prices compare - specifically the shoes - to those in the rest of Europe. I can only find pricing online in Euros, but I was not sure if the pricing was different in DKK. I'm from the US, so with VAT, the cost should be less than home, but if the prices are better in Europe, I can always test my luck at the Amsterdam airport store during my layovers.

Thank you!!

Gucci prices are best in euros. However there’s one Gucci store in Kastrup airport in Copenhagen and since you aren’t EU citizen you should be able to buy duty free there.

Amsterdam airport may be your best bet though because prices are in euros. I have never been to Amsterdam so I am not familiar with the shops there.

Out of the four Helsinki would be the cheapest (they have Euros), then Stockholm. The danish krona is much more expensive than the Swedish at the moment, and the Norway is known for being a very expensive country compared to it's neighbours. The Stockholm boutique on the end of "Birger Jarlsgatan" (street name) is not huge though, and their assortment is not the greatest. But it's definately worth to pop by, maybe you'll find what you are looking for. I have never visited any Gucci stores in Helsinki so I can't advice you about that. After your trip to the Stockholm boutique, take a stroll and have some lunch somewhere along "Strandvägen", the view over "Mälaren" is beautiful and they have some nice restaurants there.

Thank you for the insight. And for the tip on Mälaren, I will definitely check it out.

I would not waste time luxe shopping in Helsinki: the only brand store is LV and two smaller stores sell lux brands (Della Marga, Luxebag). I haven't bought from these stores myself since Gucci has free shipping abd returns (and better selection online) but they might add a bit extra to the prices. So not really worth it. I can give you some local tios for restaurants and stores to visit if you PM me  All the cities are expensive in general but I'd say that Oslo takes the first place and Copenhagen comes second. I bought a bottle of water and some chocolates at a kiosk in Oslo -20€:shocked::shocked:

Thank you - good info to know. I will definitely PM for some tips - I always love recommendations.

Remember to get the tax refund for your larger purchases! You need to ask them for the documentation at the store, and make sure you carry your passport to prove you live outside the EU :) Then at the airport you look for one of the tax refund shops and have it processed and get it back either in cash or refunded to your card. In Copenhagen the Gucci store in the city center is definitely bigger than the one at the airport.. so it depends on if you are looking for a lot of variety as well.
