Gucci Horsebit Clutch--vintage or classic style?

hey ladies! not to resurrect a really old thread, but i'm so conflicted . . . .

back in the tom ford era, i was an absolute gucci fanatic - i still use the bags i purchased back then, and people still stop me to ask about them! however, i'm torn on my blue metallic horsebit clutch . . . i LOVE the design & style of this bag, it's roomy without being too large, and the detachable chain strap makes it easy to change the look. . . . the only problem is, i rarely rarely use it, because it's difficult for me to match with anything! i only wear white gold or platinum jewelry, so the giant gold hardware makes it really tough . . . .

what should i do?!!? should i sell it? wear it even if it doesn't match the jewelry? keep it b/c it's a HTF, even if i only use it 1x/year?

thanks!

That's a great looking bag! Sell it if you're not going to use it and use the money towards something you will use and love.

P.S. About the gold hardware and matching jewelry...my everyday jewelry is platinum, white gold, silver, etc. I was told once that it didn't matter if the hardware on your purse was gold because your purse is a statement on it's own. I used to be really hung up on this but now I don't care that they don't match. All my gucci bags have light gold hardware and I'd be sad to pass up on these lovelies just cuz it didn't match my jewelry.

There was one point shortly after I got married when I told DH that I wanted a back-up wedding ring in yellow gold to match when I switch jewelry colors. He and some other people I shared this with thought I was crazy. :weird: Hehe.

After lusting after this bag since high school, I finally got my hands on the small leather one in black, now I'm on the prowl for the larger one, since that's the one I orginally wanted, but u rarely see them on eBay, if anyone comes across the large one in color or fabric or leather, let me
know, please!

i have this bag (the original canvas with the purple stripe)...and long story short...i got a stain on the front of the bag on the stripe...well i got the stain out but the purple is a little faded in that area (no one would probably notice but it stands out to me because i guess im a little neurotic when it comes to my bags! lol)....does anyone know what i could try to restore the faded color? would dyeing the stripe work? i just worry about that since its only the stripe part that is purple...if anyone has any ideas/advice i would GREATLY appreciate it!!
thanks so much,
lindsay

I'm in the market for a Gucci, Tom Ford-era, black leather horsebit clutch. I bought one on eBay and now I'm questioning its authenticity. It looks like the pictures online, but there's one exception and this may be a big one-- it does not have a magnetic closure on the flap. What do you think?
