First post so I hope this is in the right place.

I have a vintage, coated-canvas, GG purse from sometime in the 1980's .
It's on life support at this point, so I decided to try to put my lifetime of sewing skills to work and try to restore it.
So, I'm trying to source some good quality, fabric for repairs.

Any suggestions that will help?

It will be the first from my "Frankengucci" line.

Thanks!

Definitely worth finding fabric that matches the original texture. Check out online fabric stores they often have a variety of patterns and colors. Also don't forget to look at thrift shops; sometimes you can find something unique.
By the way make sure to pay attention to thread quality! It's crucial for your repairs to hold up. Good luck with your "Frankengucci" line 😊

Pics?

I guess another Gucci in an even worse state as a donor would be the best match.
I'm sorry this took so long,. It's been a busy week.
Anyway, here is a pic. I cleaned the sides and had no idea how filthy it was until I compared the newly cleaned are to the untouched areas.

Thanks.
