Have any of you guys gotten one of the DIY totes? My shop is having a DIY event and I’m planning to attend but not sure yet if I’ll buy. If anyone has experience with the other more recent DIY stuff I’d love to know too! My searches mostly came up with the DIY range from a few years ago or just PR for the new one so I’m curious to hear experiences!

Planning to buy a vintage Gucci Zipper GG Tote with some flaws due to usage and since theres the PATCH collection I'll be doing a DIY with it. Here are the samples.

Any recommendations or suggestions? Thanks!

If it is an in-store DIY event...it may not be the DIY totes and ace sneakers that are online at Gucci.com ... There is a DIY event that generally last a few days where you have the opportunity to customize a Dionysus or Silvie bag with beautiful patches etc... as well as the Jordaans and make a customizable denim jacket or bomber among many other unique items... If that is the DIY event in-store it is so worth going and having a very special piece made! The pieces are amazing and if you do a DIY silk bomber or denim there will be a special label inside the jacket that will have your name on it (that you designed it)... Its quite an event and is a must see and do!

Yeah, I stopped into my shop the other day and they gave me more details! I didn’t realize they were still doing the other customization as all the info I’d found was quite old. It seems it’ll be a mix of both! I’m excited to see everything in person this weekend!!

I have been to the DIY events both last year and this year. Here are a few photos for your reference.

They do silk bombers, silk shirts, silk robes, denim jacket, sweaters (both zipped and normal hoodies). Sylvie and Dionysus.

I purchased a silk bomber last year. I also got a silk shirt but the fit came out terribly for some reason (I tried it on before ordering). They told me the shirt was supposed to be worn backward. I was like I tried this shirt not backward because I absolutely hate buttoning shirts backward. Anyway, unlike Hermès, they don’t measure your body and make a customized version.

Thank you for all the photos!! I’m so excited for Sunday now.

Gosh the bombers are beautiful!! My SA had prepared a bunch of pics of the denim jackets to show me but I just bought one at the outlet last month, lol, so she showed me all the bombers too. If you don’t mind me being a bit crass, what was the ballpark pricing for the jacket you got? I wanna know how much damage to be prepared for ;)

The one that I got was around 4k ish including tax (if I remember correctly). The skull silk bomber is around 7k ish. The birds of paradise is over 10k. Luckily tian is my favorite and it is the cheapest! :happydance::graucho::giggle:

They also do customized shoes event as well. I was invited but I don’t wear heels lol

Omg birds of paradise why so exxy  (“because it’s beautiful!!!” screams my mind). Though I’ve been wanting something in the Tian print for a while and nothing’s spoken to me quite like that bomber, so...:panic:

My SA said there’d be shoes which is exciting as they don’t carry my size regularly here lol. It’s gonna be quite a day I think :graucho:

You can always get the robe...I think it was...24k? :giggle:

I loved the birds of paradise but I would rather get another B with that money

Let me know the damage afterward!!! :coolio:

The shoes are really special too as they have softer versions of the plain solid leathers (upgraded quality) but they also have some amazing metallics...you then can have tiger embroideries placed on the shoes...inside the shoes will be your initials too! There are also special boxes these babies will eventually arrive in should you order. Enjoy

So glad to see our post, I have been seriously considering the large DIY initial open tote, they offer a few sizes. The day before I went to order was right when they posted the not so pleasant story about the sweater so I hesitated I do love the largest tote, I'm just deciding which color or skin to go with for the initial. Also, I had first thought I would get letters on both front & back but then thought it will probably be best to have a plain side to switch it up a bit. It is a simple but classy shape that I think will stand the test of time in terms of style. The DIY is available in SoHo NY always, that's where I saw it. Would love to hear your thoughts. Enjoy.

Well, the DIY event was quite something!! I was able to order the Tian bomber, Princeton slippers, and one of the initial totes. I got quite excited because it’s hard for me to find stuff with my initial on it here so I went a bit overboard maybe. The Princetowns I had no plans to buy but seeing that beautiful shiny pink I just couldn’t resist!

It felt really special to be able to choose everything and I can’t wait to get all my stuff!!!
