Gucci Dionysus or GG Marmont in 2019

Hey Guys,

Can't decide which one to get for my first Gucci bag so help would be greatly appreciated! Personally I'd like something classy and not tacky as a lot of people are saying Gucci has been getting a bit tacky over the last 2-3 years. Please see below for links to the ones I'm thinking of:

Gucci has styled itself (purposely) 'tacky'. It's a subversion of the Gucci that came before. Any strong style-statement is usually a reaction to the one before. Take any of the items and wear them in a more coordinated way or simply and most things are very beautiful and yes, some just pure fun.

Apart from the differences in style (below) I would think about whether you favour silver of brass-gold tone hardware.

Dionysus is more lady-like, formal and impactful. It was also designed before Frida left
Marmont more smart-casual

BTW, none of your links posted work for me but most of us know which bag/size models you're talking about

Yes, some of the Gucci products are over the top and could be thought of as tacky. You have to consider that for every over the top item there is usually a simple model as well. Personally, I love the simple leather Marmont bags.

Products, especially bags take ages to develop. Frida wasn't due to leave till the New Year. AM thew away the entire AW collection but not the bags including Dionysus, Padlock and others that have been very successful for the company.
