Many of you must have noticed Gucci have relaunched their beauty range recently starting with their lipsticks.

Here's one of the better reviews by Michele Wang (I like her, we seem to like lots of the same brands):

As you may also know many of the shades are already sold out but basically there are 3 variations:

Satin in the gold Art Nouveau case
Sheer in the roses case
Balm in the turquoise case

Personally, only the satin's gold case excites me but I prefer sheer lipstick so we'll see.

Anyone already wearing it or planing to get one?

Do we know the textural difference betwen satin, sheer, and balm? I'm not a fan of that 'slippery' feeling iykwim.

I haven't tried them on but from the reviews I've watched the 'Sheer' and the 'Balm' are the same formula but differ in terms of pigment (the balm having less and the sheer more). The satin has an even stronger pigment and there's a slight satin sheen to them.

I like the sound of the Sheer formula BUT I like the Satins' packaging. Apparently the Sheer's 'rose' case was inspired by a 1940s dressing table, well, sorry, I love my 1940s statement-Art Deco but not so much that fuddy-duddy musty girly stuff. The Art Nouveau gold case that the Satins come in is much more elegant.

Apparently. theres a huge range of nudes shades (Satins) but they all look too beige-y for me, I need a pink-brown or I look ill.

Sometimes I can turn satin/cremes into matte stains just by blotting and I think I could do that with the Sheers. Anyway, I'm not going to buy lipsticks I've never seen before from a website so I'll wait till I see them at Sloane St. Not to be rude to Gucci but there wasn't anything wrong with the 'old' Gucci lipsticks or their packaging (designed with Pat McGrath).

I'm not the biggest lipstick person and just bought Guerlain's Rouge G with custom case so Gucci's would have to be fabulous in every way .

I got 2 tubes 203 in satin and sheer finish. The packaging is beautiful and lipstick is quite heavy. To be honest, I don't love the scent. The lipsticks aren't particularly slippery and colors are pretty.

I bought three!
1. The Painted Veil (Satin Nude in Gold Art Deco vase)
2. Wife Vs Secretary (Sheer Violet in Rose case)
3. No More Orchids (Balm in Turquoise case)

They're nice and long lasting. I find they don't dry my lips out and the colors are wonderful. The Painted Veil is ok in color. Long lasting but I wish I'd purchased Mildred Rosewood instead. Sheer version of Wife Vs Secretary makes my lips look normal atill but gives them a nice violet glow. No more Orchids also is only a hint of color and it's quite nice and hydrating.

Thank you for the mini review, these things are really helpful for those of us that have yet to try out.

If I could prompt some more questions:
Which formula is your favourite of the 3?
Which packaging do you prefer?
Can you smell/taste anything while wearing?

No problem.
1. My favorite formula is probably the sheer Wife Vs Secretary.
2.I love all the packaging, but I think my order of preference goes Rose, Art Deco Gold and last Turquoise.
3. I personally taste and smell nothing
