Gucci bamboo shopper tote bag

Hi!

I'm searching for a tote bag that can be worn crossbody and came across aforementioned Gucci bag on a second hand site. What I can see from pictures it seems to be in a good condition and I do have the possibility to send it back.

Do you consider it to be a classic design or is it dated (I know that ultimately I should go for what I love regardless)? I tend to dress minimal and think the bamboo would add some fun 😁.

How is the leather and did it hold up well?

Any Gucci with bamboo handles are a classic. Mine are from SS1996, SS2010, AW2011/12, AW2014/5 & AW2020/21. I would never give any of them a second thought regards date.

The stress points on your possible bag are the lower rings and the bottom. Since the rings are reinforcing the leather you should have no issues. You may have to make/buy a base shaper for the bottom if you want the Bamboo Boston to retain its barrel shape when carried.

The bag (new) was sold with a shoulder strap.

The grained calf is sturdy, and the front dimples (where it's been poorly stored) should eventually become invisible when you stuff it properly and used it regularly.

Thank you 😊. It does come with a strap. Are there any specific inserts you would recommend, if you don't mind me asking?

If I get it I'll stuff it during storage as you suggest.
