I was wondering if it would be bad idea to take my Gucci marmont crossbody bag to Paris with me? I’ve heard stories about people being stopped in airports and having to prove their bag is authentic? Is that true? I’m not concerned about being a target really because I carry expensive logo bags all the time in NYC with no issue and I can’t imagine Paris is any worse than NYC, plus I’m leaving my jewelry at home but that’s just because it’s not insured. Any feedback would be helpful and appreciated!!

I've carried designer bags all round Paris no problem. Don't worry about the police, they have other things to occupy them, the law is there more as a deterrent. it's more likely that if they catch someone buying fakes from a street vender they can arrest both parties and decry all fakes including the one bought. If the wearing of it will make you feel vulnerable to thieves that is a different and separate question. That has more to do with personal safety and where you intend to hang out and visit but most thieves will be more interested in what's in your bag so whatever you carry be aware. I tend to carry 2 bags in capital cities, one crossbody, sometimes even under my coat or jacket. If you're used to NY you will already be quite well 'trained'.

The scenario you describe will not happen. It’s that simple. Also, when custom agents work on a counterfeit mission, they collaborate with brand representatives who make the determination regarding authenticity. Have a great time in Paris!

Huh?? I have never heard of this. Bring whatever bag you want to Paris. I mean don't have your wallet dangling out of an unzipped bag all over town, the usual stuff, but nothing different than any other city. Also, if you need some more Gucci stuff you should buy it while you're there, you'll save a lot of money vs buying in NYC.
